Linear Manufacturing Presented Manufacturer of the Year Award at Celebrate Technology Event

Celebrate Technology Award

Colorado Springs, CO (May 28, 2015) – On Friday, May 22nd, the Middle Market Entrepreneurs presented Linear Manufacturing with the Manufacturer of the Year Award at the 2015 Celebrate Technology Event.

Celebrate Technology is an awards event honoring technology companies and innovative people in the Colorado Springs community, fostering a positive innovation climate that drives our economic vitality and well-being.

Companies are judged on a number of criteria, but are specifically evaluated on innovation and significant contributions to the community.

For over 20 years, Linear has constantly improved processes, equipment, and technology to keep up with the demand and challenges presented in the electronics manufacturing industry. The biggest strides have been made in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly areas. Continual miniaturization of electronic components and assemblies requires extreme accuracy during manufacturing. Linear has invested in optical systems capable of distinguishing details far too small for detection by the naked eye that guide mechanical systems more accurately than a hand ever could.

Seemingly nonstop miniaturization of electronics drives Linear to find more innovative and efficient ways to adapt to the latest business trends. Miniaturization of low power Bluetooth and other wireless technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) has driven Linear to innovate manufacturing onto thinner and thinner substrates.

Linear was also chosen for the Manufacturer of the Year Award because of the many contributions made to the community. In addition to providing tours of the facility to local students, employees of Linear interact with many organizations to introduce manufacturing to young people. Linear actively works with SOCOM and the Business Alliance. Linear continues to provide information to start-up companies and aspiring local engineering students.

Linear has been a major contributor to the local economy for over 20 years. When possible materials used in the facility are bought locally and the final product is always produced in Colorado Springs. Linear invests in ongoing training for employees of the organization to encourage them to further their knowledge and skills and to stay engaged in the growth and innovation required to work at Linear. Linear also supports local colleges by providing a work environment for students to get hands on experience in their chosen field of study.
